Remedial Action Requirement - 3708 Glen Oaks Drive

That Council: 1. Impose remedial action requirements in relation to the provisions of Sections 72 and 73 of the Community Charter in respect of the property at 3708 Glen Oaks Drive. 2. Declare that all construction, alterations, reconstruction, and changes to the building completed without inspection or a building permit create an unsafe condition and are in contravention of City of Nanaimo “Building Bylaw 2016 No. 7224” and the Provincial Building Code. 3. Direct the remedial action requirement to include all construction, alterations, reconstruction, and changes to the building completed without inspections or a building permit must be completely removed no later than 90 days after issuance of the remedial action requirement. 4. Direct Staff to advise the property owner(s) that they may request Council reconsider the remedial action requirement by providing written notice within 14 days of the date on which notice of the remedial action requirement was sent in accordance with Sect ions 77 and 78 of the Community Charter. 5. Direct Staff or their authorized agents to act in accordance with Section 17 of the Community Charter, without further notice, to remove all unauthorized construction, alterations, reconstruction, and changes at the owner’s expense if the remedial action requirement is not undertaken within the time limit set out in the Council resolution.
