Ben Geselbracht Yes

The motion from correspondence. What? I found the most reasonable compromise that would be possible. Would be an additional 25% of the payment. Made within 180 days of the reorder approval. So you get the first 25% as per our current bylaw. With nothing else.
So meetings, it's. On the floor. Oh, goodness. I actually know what I'm doing for once. Great. Thank you. If I can speak to it, I think this is a very reasonable middle ground. I think when I did the amendment earlier on, when it first came forward, the GPC was the earlier payment was tied with doubling. The value. In the debate. That didn't seem reasonable, but I think having a payment come earlier of 50%. It allows for the homeowner enough to be able to make decisions. And a move, and they're not sort of stuck in this limbo, and I think that we need to take it really seriously. The large majority of these folks are. Quite advanced in age, and it's very difficult, and I think they deserve some greater security. When. This does happen.

Janice Perrino Yes

I'd be interested in what you were just about to say. And my question was similar to councilor Gesselbrooks, but I first of all, just. Wanted to thank you for coming back. I know it's an inconvenience for you to be here tonight. We didn't have any energy left to even discuss it. The last time, but I just want to say thank you so much for being here. Again tonight. The only thing that I struggle with in this whole discussion is every person who rents goes through. This from time to time. Should their landlord decide. To. Sell, renovate, whatever the circumstances is. And every renter has to go through having to readjust. To, so. It's not just. The homeowners that you're talking about, it's a wide variety of people. Who are affected.

Sheryl Armstrong Yes

Very good point. Thank you. Thank you, Councilor Armstrong. Thank you. Is there anything further you think this council or this council could do to assist with this? I know. One thing I always wish is that the provincial government would buy these when they come. Up for sale and then be the landlord. But obviously. You're not doing that. Is there anything further you think we could do to help you?

Leonard Krog No

I will just offer this comment only. We debated this at length some time ago. A month ago. Council had the benefit of a staff report that had worked very hard in conjunction with the affected community. I see no reason to change that policy at the present time. It can always be changed. At some date in the future, so the motion is on the floor. All those in favor? Councilors? Armstrong, Eastmere, Guestelbrock, Hemmons. Prino and brown and those opposed. Mayor Krog and councilor Thorpe.
