Erin Hemmens Yes

Yes, Councillor Hemmonds. Thank you. I understand we've asked for financials. The deadline has passed. Okay, so then thank you. I'm in support of denying.

Leonard Krog Yes

I'm trying to figure— My understanding, and Ms. Gurry will correct me if I'm wrong, Ms. Slater, they have not provided the information that would qualify them to be given a permissive tax exemption. The time has passed. Staff, I think, arguably generously said approve it if they get it in before the third reading. And what Councillor Hemmonds has proposed and what Councillor Armstrong has seconded is, no, they didn't meet the requirements and we're not going to give them money. permissive tax exemption. Am I understanding this all correctly? Cal Sperino I I take your point that they are a registered society with the board of directors if their executive director or whatever the position she may hold is is off on maternity leave I Hope the things go well for her But this is a society that has received substantial monies from the city of Nanaimo and others services and the most basic thing that you have to do is provide information and appropriate reports with the provincial government. So I appreciate it may seem a bit harsh to some folks but I think this is the right and proper thing to do.
