Hilary Eastmure Yes

Eastmeer. Challenging political waters. I hope not. I would like to just thank the committee for their dedication to coming to the meetings. And for sharing their thoughts. It's a big, broad topic, and there's a lot. That we would like to be doing at the city level. We would like to be seeing the province stepping up to do and a lot of gaps. That we're stepping into fill. And I think, of course, there's a frustration. At the committee level and reflected here at the council table and across the province. With municipalities struggling. To deal with public safety issues that are really the result of federal and provincial downloading and gaps that we see there that we can't necessarily fully address at the municipal level. So I think the work plan reflects. The very broad scope of the nature of public safety issues and some of the challenges we run up against in terms of resourcing, but I think there's also a really. Good reflection of a lot of the work that the city is already doing.

Ian Thorpe Yes

And I really appreciate the work of the public Safety committee, and I think you're doing a fine job with a lot of issues.

Paul Manly Yes

Thank you very much, Councilor Manly. Thank you, your worship. And thank you to staff for the report and thank you to the committee for their work. I'm happy just to support. These initiative themes as well. I would suggest that they lean heavily on advocacy because a lot of what we're dealing with. At the local level is the responsibility of the provincial government. And. Sometimes. Yeah. It just feels like an uphill battle to try to deal with the concerns of citizens around public safety when the province has really failed us.
