Nanaimo Food Policy Council
Motion
It was moved and seconded that Council support City of Nanaimo Staff participation in the Nanaimo Food Policy Council as non‑voting members and include one council member. It was moved and seconded that Council send a letter to the Regional District of Nanaimo Board of Directors requesting that a staff liaison be appointed to the Nanaimo Food Policy Council to represent regional interests. It was moved and seconded that Council provide a letter of support from the City to Nanaimo Foodshare requesting the Nanaimo Region Medical Health Officer provide Nanaimo Foodshare with an additional $5,000 annually to the health authorities locally designated food hub, to contribute to the administrative costs of coordinating the Nanaimo Food Policy Council.
