Ian Thorpe Yes

Thank you so much. Thank you, worship. Thank you. Councilor Thorpe, please. Thank you, your worship. Through you. If I may, I do have a question. For Mr. Moss. Thank you for being here. My question comes under the section of our staff report under proposed variances. And parking, and it references. The applicant proposes to include TDM measures, transportation, demand management that would be secured as a condition of the permit to further reduce parking demand. Can you explain to me, please, or clarify what is TDM.
Thank you, councilor Thorpe. Thank you, your worship. Through you. Yes, I agree with the comments of councilor Gezzlebrott regarding the development on the brown field site, which is kudos. To you. And I like this development. I don't like the parking variance, and I don't think it's realistic, and if. There was concerns from the design advisory committee that heartens me. But I think that a variance of 37 spaces is too much. And the fact that we're. Adding more. Bicycle parking stalls does not assuage my concerns, however.

Hilary Eastmure Yes

Eastmere? Then, Councilor Gesselbrock. Thank you, Darren. Thank you for the or, Mr. Moss. Thank. You for the presentation, and I just wanted to note that. The design panel did have a few recommendations which were addressed, highlighted in the staff report, including the incorporation of onsite visitor parking. And better short term bike racks. They have changed the gravel material on one of the paths to more of a hard packed base. For improved accessibility, so really appreciate seeing that, as well as the addition of more trees. And I'll note that the design panel was a little bit split on the parking variance. But I think. We came to an understanding that because the area is very well served by transit and because of the number of bike parking spaces that you have included in that really. Interesting central building with the shared bike parking, which is sort of an innovative strategy for sure. We did see why the parking variance works on this project, so thanks for bringing it forward and. It's a beautiful looking project.
