Armstrong is saying is so important because. This particular. Development. Is so desperately needed. But every child will be crossing that road to go to Randerson. Of that school age, so it's definitely a concern for the neighborhood, and it's worrisome. That's such a busy. It's just such a busy area. And I just take to heart what councilor Armstrong has said and agree with it wholeheartedly. But so pleased to see this coming to the table. Good news.

Thank you. Looking at this with interest. Public safety committee meeting. We had a lot of issues come up about the roundabout and the issues for pedestrian safety as well as cycling safety. With this new project, is there an opportunity to engage with the developer to improve that intersection so that it eliminates some of the concerns

We've heard. Yes, through your worship to Councilor Armstrong's question. So the proposal would include a raised pedestrian crossing on the east leg of the roundabout, which would improve pedestrian safety in the area as well as slow vehicles down in that movement on and off of the roundabout at the east lake. So overall, as well as frontage improvements on Rutherford. So overall, it would improve pedestrian safety in the area. And that was something that was identified as a community concern, as you mentioned, as well as a technical concern through the staff review and the off-site works and the frontage works would help address pedestrian safety.

I'm still concerned about that because I don't think a raised pedestrian crosswalk has been to make any difference to the concerns that have been raised, because people just start looking. So I do know that staff had some other ideas around that, so I'm wondering if they could work with the developer to try and implement the solutions our staff have seen. According to Mr. Rose on Wednesday, we

heard from him through. Your worship again to Councilor Armstrong. So. The works that. Would be provided through this development would be limited to the frontage works and the off site works. That I've spoken to the raised pedestrian crossing as well, and the trail connection within the park. And proposed park, but. There are opportunities. And staff as value opportunities for improvements generally to the roundabout. Identified as having. It's been identified as having. Maybe excessive capacity versus what we've seen. Which. What we anticipated when it was designed and. Maybe that would be proposing a reducing capacity in the way of auxiliary lanes and improving pedestrian crossings. At some point in the future. Something. Mr. Sims staff. That's
