thank you councillor Armstrong councillor Thorpe thank your worship I give this some thought after our vote last time and I was on the the ... the minority side of the vote but I I'm glad that we are discussing it again to me ... moving the money in this manner ... provides more limitations to council if it's in the strategic infrastructure reserve ... we can use that as well as needed if we need for some projects that are in the queue and ... we can always to decide to draw upon upon it ... for a transportation item if we feel that becomes a priority if we take the money out and put it into an earmarked fund for whatever reason ... I feel that we're just limiting ourselves what's leaving the money where it is most accessible to use for whatever needs we feel our priorities during the coming year the money is still there it's just I think better left in the pot where it is now
road safety is very important ... there is a huge backlog list of pedestrian upgrades that need to be made ... these projects require planning and design it can take up to two years to accomplish and by having these funds allocated now provides the stability that's needed for you know proper implementation so I think it is important that we do allocated now to allow our transportation stock to go ahead and make those long term plans to to make the community safer during get these pedestrian amenities in
